Circa 1960 Vintage Joint USAF & JASDF INTEL Tie Clip & Cuff Links Set in Original Dark Blue Velvet Box with the Business Card of Major General ShuJi Otsuka (Japanese Air Self Defense Force) Who Gifted this Set to My Father When He Worked With the Japanese Military.
My father was a Chinese Language Specialist educated with the US military at Yale Language School in Connecticut (where I was born in 1959) and worked closely with the Japanese, Koreans and Taiwanese in the 1960's as US Air Force Intelligence, decoding and assessing the Communist Chinese threat in Asia. My father later left the Air Force and worked for the US Government NSA stationed in Taiwan and Korea in the 1970's, but he always fondly told our family and friends stories of his times working with the military in Japan.
The set is in new condition! I never saw my father wear this set, rather he kept it as a precious reminder of his time with the Japanese counterparts.
