This is a vintage 1950’s, early American, cut glass-style, pressed glass (EAPG), red/Amberina, pedestal, compote I believe made by “The Imperial Glass Co. in the “Hobstar & Arches” pattern. This is an unsigned piece with no signature that I could find on the bottom. It is mostly red with the Amberina coloring on the stem & footed, octagonal base. The compote measures 6.5 inches wide and 6.25 inches in height. The actual, inside, bowl measurement of the piece is approximately 5 inches in diameter. The rim of the compote is scalloped with a rounded saw-tooth edge. This is one of the few pieces I have seen in Imperial glass with an octagonal base. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and would make a nice, decorating statement anytime of year, but especially for Christmas or Valentine’s Day.
