MAGNIFICENT AND UNIQUE 1950s MULTI COLORED PHEASANT FEATHER HAT WITH VELVET BOW

This outstanding one-of-a-kind collector's creation consists of an oval shaped structure covered with incredibly artful pheasant feathers. The structure itself is somewhat flexible, so it hugs any size head. The oval 'brim' has an oval piece on top, which is covered by more pheasant feathers on the outside, and in high-endbrown shiny material. There is a light brown velvet bow at the center. This is a unique example of the artful millinery creations of the 1950s.Throughout the 1950s, ladies wore hats daily as a part of their attire as was a pair of gloves.The millinery industry set about creating variety and extravagance. Generally speaking hats remained small and close to the head. They were now touted as the essential accessory to complete the ensemble.
